Laser assisted decay detecting fluoride has been both a blessing and a curse. It has placed a hardening resistant shell on the outer enamel of a tooth but not always in the deep groves and fissures. The laser allows us to tell with almost 100% accuracy whether or not a pit or groove is just stained or actually decay.
